Pipe bursting is a relatively new form of trenchless pipe replacement that can be employed to replace pipes of many sizes, functions, and materials. The process involves pulling a wedge through the old pipe and “bursting” it out of the way, while inserting a new HDPE pipe into the void created behind the wedge.

Minimal Disturbances — Pipe bursting allows for minimized above ground disturbances, which prevents pedestrian and vehicular traffic from encountering unnecessary inconveniences and delays.
Expansion Ability —This method allows for a larger pipe to be installed in place of a smaller pipe despite being a form of trenches replacement.
Savings —Pipe bursting is much more cost effective than complete open-cut pipe replacement if underground conditions allow for it. However, when using this method, new water services will need to be installed.
